Jul 20 2020, 5:43 pm

Marukatsu Cuisine has officially popped up inside Aburi Restaurants’ Gyoza Bar in downtown Vancouver at 622 West Pender Street.

If you find the Japanese-Mexican concept intriguing, we’d urge you to get down to this spot and see what it’s all about (and come hungry).

Marukatsu offers patrons a selection of fusion eats that combine Japanese katsu with Mexican ingredients in dishes like burritos and bowls, alongside comfort eats like curry and teishoku, a Japanese set meal.

The Tenderloin and Ebi Fry Teishoku is great on its own or to share, it arrives with miso soup, dream rice, and cabbage — which is endless — so don’t be shy about refills people.

Aside from the six varieties of teishokus, folks can enjoy a hefty Marukatsu Burrito, which happened to be the highlight of our visit.
