Vancouver is losing another restaurant, and this time, it’s the Korean pancake spot Mapo Pancake House.

The restaurant, which opened its doors in 2022, shared the news on Instagram that it would be closing before the end of the month.

“Thank you for every table shared, every pancake enjoyed, and every warm moment spent with us,” wrote the restaurant online.

The part pancake house, part rice wine bar eatery in Yaletown is best known for its selection of authentic savoury Korean pancakes. Varieties included prawn chives, bulgogi cheese, and potato cheese, to name a few.

Located at 1130 Mainland St., it operates in the former location of the Korean taco spot Milssam Tacorea, steps away from Minami and Yaletown-Roundhouse Station

“To everyone who laughed with us, celebrated with us, and made Mapo part of your life — thank you. You’ve been the heart of our restaurant,” added Mapo. “The memories created here will stay with us forever because of you. So here’s to one last gathering, one last plate, one last unforgettable bite.”

Many took to the comments to share some kind words with the restaurant.

“I’m so sad to hear this 😢 I love coming to your restaurant and it’s my go-to whenever I’m in Yaletown! Best of luck with your new endeavours!” said one user.

“So sad to hear this! I loved your seafood pancake😭😭😭 thanks for all the tasty food and memories and wishing your team all the bestā¤ļø,” added another.

“Noooooooo, darn! This place offers the best pancakes,” said a third.

Even the Yaletown BIA left a comment, writing, “We’ll miss the Mapo team — thank you for all the pancakes & memories.”

Mapo will be closing its doors permanently on Nov. 24.
