Metro Vancouver bakery closes after 25 years and over a million loaves of sourdough sold

2025 was a rough year for the restaurant industry in and around Vancouver, and we just received word that another longstanding spot has closed its doors.
Manzano Europa Bakery, located inside Metropolis at Metrotown, has officially closed its doors.
A closure announcement has yet to be shared from the restaurant, but a Dished reader submitted a picture of signage that the bakery has indeed closed.
“After 25 wonderful years of serving our community, our owners have made the difficult decision to retire at the end of the year,” reads the sign.

Manzano is best known for its selection of desserts, like its tiramisu and chocolate truffle cake, as well as its selection of yeast-free breads and sourdough. In fact, Manzano shared that it has sold over a million loaves of sourdough since it opened.
“Thank you for being part of our journey,” said Manzano. “We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support over the past 25 years.”
