Man forgets where he parked Porsche on BC Ferries, takes bus home instead

Are you the type of person that would leave your Porsche on the ferry and then take the bus home? Well, that’s what one man did last Wednesday night when he left his new 2012 model Porsche aboard the Spirit of Vancouver Island after arriving at the Tsawwassen BC Ferries terminal.

Worst  yet, at least for passengers, the incident caused a 75 minute delay for the vessel’s next sailing to Victoria’s Swartz Bay as BC Ferries staff were highly concerned that something may have happened to the man while he was onboard the vessel.

Delta police were able to locate the man by calling his cellphone while he was traveling on the bus. According to the Times Colonist, the owner of the car couldn’t find his new luxury vehicle on the ferry’s car deck so he decided to disembark on foot and take the bus home instead.

Upon further investigation after the car was towed off the ferry, police discovered the Porsche was uninsured and subsequently decided to impound the car pending further investigation. This begs another question: how can you afford to buy a Porsche but not be able to afford to get it insured?

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Seven months ago, Richmond RCMP pulled over a 22-year old driving a $500,000 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. His car was also uninsured.
