Police had their hands full after a man allegedly climbed into a crane in downtown Vancouver and attempted to use it.

According to the VPD, the incident took place in the area of Dunlevy and Powell Street.

The suspect reportedly climbed into the operating booth of a crane and was able to turn it on.

Tania Visintin, spokesperson for the VPD, says that “power was pulled on the crane before any use or potential damage had happened.”

She says that police were able to speak with the man and convinced him to go down the crane on his own.

When he did, he was taken into custody by officers.
