Police arrested a violent offender after he cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor and went on the run in December 2025.

On March 2, Vancouver Police Department (VPD) detectives and District 5 officers tracked him in a hotel in Gastown on Water Street.

“District 5 officers came up with a plan to take the suspect into custody. He tried to get away by jumping out a window but was arrested with the help of a police dog,” said Sergeant Adam Donaldson with the VPD.

The offender has criminal convictions dating back to 2004, with many of them involving violence toward women and possession of firearms.

“Women in this community are safer now that this offender has been arrested,” Donaldson added.

He will be in custody until a court appearance later this month.
