The Vancouver Police Department is investigating an incident involving a man being “stabbed in the back” twice.
Police said the assault took place on Wednesday afternoon.
At the time, the victim was walking along the 300 block of East Hastings Street in the Downtown Eastside. Police say the victim got into a fight with the suspect, who pulled out a knife, stabbed the victim in the back twice, then walked away.
The victim was able to get help at a nearby business, where staff were able to call 911.
“He was taken to hospital where his wounds were deemed not life-threatening,” the Vancouver Police Department said in a release.
The suspect is still on the loose, and police have described him as a Hispanic male who was wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants at the time of the incident.
