A 38-year-year-old Port Coquitlam man has been arrested after police responded to “a number of reports” that he allegedly exposed himself to a variety of individuals, primarily young females, in the Confederation Park and the Burnaby Lake areas last week.

In a release, Burnaby RCMP said the arrests stem from incidents that took place on July 8, in which the man is also alleged to have invited some of the victims to touch him sexually.

“With the assistance of images of the male provided by the public and CCTV images, the male was identified,” police said.

Officers set up surveillance on the man and “he was arrested yesterday morning without incident.”

Police said the investigation involved a number of resources at the detachment, including General Duty members, Community Response Team members, and Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Services.

“These units worked diligently together to ensure this male was located, arrested and will now be held accountable for his alleged actions,” said Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Michael Kalanj.
