If you’ve ever made the trip from Vancouver to Whistler or done any Sea-to-Sky Highway road trips, chances are you’ve heard about or stopped at the now-shuttered Mag’s 99 Chicken Joint at 1584 BC-99 in Squamish.

The highway-side staple known for its fried chicken and Mexican cantina eats recently announced on its Facebook page that despite leaving its OG location, Mag’s was not even close to being done feeding British Columbians.

Owners then listed a handful of food truck locations coming soon, including Squamish (opening June 12), Tofino and Ucuelet (opening June 15), Surrey (opening August 1), and Nanaimo (opening August 15).

More food trucks are slated to open in 2020 in Kelowna, Kamloops, and Prince George.

Mag’s 99 also revealed that store locations and tap houses are a part of their plan.

Squamish (opening summer 2019), Victoria, and Surrey (opening in fall 2019) are all in the works, and a spot in Port Alberni is said to be open already.

The original Mag’s 99 will soon be replaced by Sunny Chibas, another fried chicken and Mexican cantina.

Daily Hive has reached out to Mag’s for exact locations of its new food trucks and outposts, we’ll keep you posted.
