Machu Picchu just got a whole lot easier to get to

As one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is an iconic tourist attraction in Cusco, and it just got a whole lot easier to get to with a new train service from Cusco.

The capital of the Incan Empire is increasingly drawing globetrotters to Peru due to its incredible vast landscapes that range from lush, hilly jungles to barren snow-capped mountains.

Inca Rail is currently the only train operator that directly connects Cusco’s city centre with the majestic Machu Picchu, and starting this month they will begin service to Machu Picchu from San Pedro station, in Cusco’s city centre.

The trip from San Pedro station starts in the main square called Plaza de Armas right in the heart of the historical centre, and will offer four morning departures to Machu Picchu and three return trips to the station in the afternoon.

The pre-existing services offered by Inca Rail will continue.

Whether you’re still looking for an adventure after your trek (or train ride), there’s plenty of things to do before or after your journey from Cusco, like grabbing a bite, grabbing a drink, or petting some alpacas.
