Luongo Stands On His Head As Canucks Douse The Flames

Last night we saw Roberto Luongo back in vintage form and the Canucks were not even wearing their vintage jersey’s (something they do quite often, I thought the league regulated the number of times it could be worn). Okay bad joke but, whatever. If it wasn’t for him the Canucks would have had their asses handed to them and the game would have been over in the first period.

With the playoffs only 2 games away this is exactly the type of goaltending we need. Last night was a reminder of the out of this world performance by Bobbie Lu two years ago. The only thing the Canucks lacked back then was balanced scoring. This year I think they got that, especially if Sundin plays the way he did last night we’ll be just fine. That was Sundin’s best game in a long, long, long time.

As for the game itself the crowd was raucous. There were noticeably less suits in the stands and that is a good thing. On a personal note, for once I was not told to “be quiet”. Jeez, I thought I was at a Canucks game and can yell and scream all I want. That wasn’t the case on Sunday as I sat there bored I decided to scream and whip the crowd into a frenzy. The result was sporadic “Budaj” chants, 3rd period wave and angry stares from the suits. I guess sitting in the lower bowl isn’t always a good thing. I’d rather sit up in the top with the real fans.
