Potential coronavirus exposure reported at Vancouver MMA studio

Vancouver Coastal Health is reporting a potential exposure to COVID-19 at a downtown MMA (mixed martial arts) studio.

On its website, VCH says the possible exposure took place at Lions MMA located at 1256 Granville Street in Vancouver between August 18 to 28 during operating hours.

“Exposures posted here are believed to be low risk but, out of an abundance of caution, please monitor yourself for symptoms if you visited this location during these times,” stated VCH.

In an Instagram post, Lions MMA says it has temporarily closed and is undergoing a “full deep clean.”

The health authority is asking anyone who visited the studio during the specified dates and times to self-monitor for symptoms.

“There is no known risk to anyone who attended any listed locations outside of the specified dates and times.”

On Wednesday, VCH also expanded its exposure warning for the Banter Room in Yaletown.
