There will be lane closures on the Lions Gate Bridge this weekend

Overnight lane closures scheduled for the Lions Gate Bridge this weekend are expected to create some delays.

The provincial government says the lane closures are necessary to allow maintenance crews to replace the second bearing of the bridge’s south tower.

Closures will be in place during the following times:

• 9:30 pm to 10 pm on Sunday, October 21 – one lane open in each direction
• 10 pm on Sunday, October 21, to 5:30 am on Monday, October 22 – single-lane, alternating traffic

Due to changes in traffic patterns, the provincial government is encouraging drivers to consider using the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge as an alternative route.
