Langley RCMP are investigating after a fatal crash this morning left a motorcyclist dead in the city’s Aldergrove neighbourhood.

According to police, the incident took place around 7:30 am, in the 7000 block of 264th Street, when the motorcycle, which was travelling south, collided with a northbound Toyota Corolla making a left-hand turn.

“The operator of the motorcycle was deceased at the scene and Langley RCMP Client Support and Victim Services are providing assistance to the driver of the Corolla who is obviously distraught,” said Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.

She added that police believe speed to be a factor on the part of the motorcyclist.

Now, they are encouraging anyone who may have further information on the incident – or events that that led up to it – to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.

Witnesses to the collision itself who have not spoken to police are also asked to call and provide their information.

Largy said that no further information is going to be released on the incident until next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
