Ladurée has big plans for Canada!
The company recently confirmed to Daily Hive that a full bakery and patisserie ‘laboratory’ is expected to open in Vancouver in May 2018, and more locations are planned for Toronto.
In an email from the company, Ladurée shares that “a Pastry Chef from France will be moving to Canada to create the famous Ladurée pastries,” and that President David Holder “also has his sights set on Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville and the Financial District for future Canadian stores.”
The company is also looking to“expand its ‘Ladurée Picnic’ grab-and-go concept to Toronto.”
The expansion plans mean that patisserie’s signature selection of macarons and confection will no longer be imported from abroad.
The launch of the Picnic concept, which currently boasts only a single location in Paris, will introduce Canadians to a range of ready-made products including light savoury fare like salads and soups along with juices, scented waters, and more.
