Labatt Breweries of Canada has officially acquired BC-based distillery Goodridge & Williams (G&W).

The acquisition includes the craft distiller’s ready-to-drink brands such as Tempo Craft Gin, Bitterhouse Aperitiffs, Goodridge & Williams Canadian Whisky, HIGHBALL Canadian Whisky Soda Beverage, and Sid The Handcrafted Vodka along with NÜTRL VODKA and NÜTRL VODKA SODA (Canada’s fastest-growing vodka soda beverage).

“As a family-owned Canadian company, we’ve always been dedicated to working with the best people and using only the finest ingredients,” said Paul Meehan, Principle and Creative Director of G&W Distillery. “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved with our brands, as a leader and disruptor in the ready-to-drink market in Canada. With my background of more than 30 years in the local and global beer business, we’re excited to partner with Labatt, another leader and driving force in Canada, to connect with even more consumers in the coming years.”

While the terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, Labatt has released that it plans to dedicate its “resources, distribution channels and national sales footprint to further new growth of the G&W brands and increase their availability to consumers across Canada.”

Both brands are confident the combination will be a good fit as they believe in the “same values of quality, innovation and customer focus.”

“The growth in ready-to-drink shows no signs of slowing down, and we’re thrilled to bring G&W Distillery and their innovative range of sugar-free, low-calorie NÜTRL products onboard with our existing portfolio,” said Kyle Norrington, President of Labatt Breweries of Canada. “G&W’s brands will continue under the leadership of founder Paul Meehan and his team who will also drive new product development and marketing. Their innovation and expertise in this segment, along with Labatt’s experience and resources will form the foundation for a strategic partnership that we are confident will take the business to the next level in Canada.”

Labatt’s portfolio includes over 60 beer brands including notable names like Stella Artois, Budweiser, Bud Light, Corona, and Goose Island.
