
Classes at all Kwantlen Polytechnic University campuses have been cancelled today (Wednesday May 8) as a result of what the university is calling an “unsubstantiated threat.”
“Surrey RCMP have alerted us to an unsubstantiated threat against KPU,” the university tweeted. “All classes at all campuses are cancelled for rest of the day.”

Buildings will all be closed as well, while “while security reviews the situation.”

Surrey RCMP say the decision to evacuate all five campuses was made “out of an abundance of caution.”
They noted that at this point, they still have yet to locate evidence to substantiate a threat but are continuing to investigate the situation.
The university has campuses in Surrey, Richmond, and Langley.
