Surrey, Langley, and Richmond RCMP have cleared all Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) following a threat that was reported earlier today.
Officers attended all KPU campuses and completed thorough searches with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Explosives Devices Unit, and the Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

“Police are confident that the areas are safe for the public and there is no imminent threat to safety,” said Surrey RCMP in a release.
At approximately 9 am on May 8, 2019, Surrey RCMP said it received information regarding a threat to KPU. Surrey RCMP says the decision to evacuate all five campuses was made “out of an abundance of caution.”
