Great news for fans of sports talk radio, as the best show in TSN 1040 station history will return to the airwaves in the new year.
Mike Halford and Jason Brough will host a show from 3:00-5:00pm on Saturdays, beginning January 9. The name of the show is still to be determined, as the pair ditched the Kurtenblog moniker after they moved to NBC Pro Hockey Talk back in 2011.
No word yet on who their producer will be, although their old KB Radio producer Mike Martignago, is a logical choice.
Halford and Brough are pioneers of sorts, when it comes to Canucks blogging (for a history lesson, check out Thomas Drance’s interview with them). They were the first Canucks bloggers to go mainstream, which included gigs with The Province and Team 1040 (now TSN 1040).
When they left The Province for greener pastures (NBC Pro Hockey Talk) in 2011, their radio show left too. As is often the case with that radio station, they seem to lean towards using established radio veterans rather than taking a chance with new voices.
In any case, KB Radio is back, and it’s great news. I’ll be listening.
