There's a dog-friendly pumpkin patch taking over Kitsilano this weekend

As Halloween approaches, the prime pumpkin-carving season is in full swing. If you’re like us, you’re already researching the coolest way to present yours (Minions, Homer Simpson, and R2-D2 — the list goes on).

But don’t worry if you haven’t picked the perfect pumpkin just yet. We know the place to go… and it’s not miles outside of the city on a farm (phew).

On Saturday, October 19, pick a pumpkin by donation and help the Greater Vancouver Food Bank at Kitspatch, an event hosted by the West 4th Avenue Business Improvement Association.

A total of 300 pumpkins will be placed in front of the Kitswings mural at West 4th Avenue and Burrard Street, where you can take your pick of the best from 11 am to 1 pm. There’s going to be a professional photographer on-site to snap photos of the day and help you celebrate the festivities.

Oh, and did we mention you can even bring your four-legged friend along with you?

Halloween is all about trick-or-treating, so it makes sense that doggy treats will be up for grabs at the event!

Of course, there’s going to be something for the kiddies and grown-ups, too. Lucky’s Doughnuts and DAVIDsTEA will be served up to keep you warm (and sweet) throughout the day.

Whether you attend the event with your favourite person, the whole family, or your furry pal, have the moment captured with the most adorable photo. Be sure to tag @shopwestfourth when you post on social media.

See you at Kitsilano’s newest pop-up pumpkin patch!
