Kesler slams a beer at Canucks game and fans absolutely love it

Ryan Kesler made a surprise appearance at the Vancouver Canucks game at Rogers Arena on Tuesday night. The Canucks legend was shown on the big screen during the second period and was of course greeted with cheers from the fans.

Kesler, who is still a showman, proceeded to slam his beer.

When the play began, fans in attendance began chanting Kesler’s name (credit to the Larscheiders in the building for apparently getting it started).

The Canucks kept showing Kesler on the big screen, and he kept crushing beers. They showed him late in the third period, and then again after the Canucks beat the Calgary Flames 3-1.

Kesler was spotted being swarmed by fans post-game, with Sportsnet 650’s Josh Elliott-Wolfe saying the former Selke Trophy winner stayed to take pictures and sign jerseys.

It remains to be seen if we’ll see a Kesler tribute night in the future, perhaps in the form of a spot in the Ring of Honour. He’s clearly a fan favourite again in Vancouver.
