New Kelowna development wants to pay your strata fees for an entire year

It’s no secret that living in one of Canada’s major metros comes with a hefty price tag.

Beautiful as it may be, owning a home in Vancouver is far from affordable. If you can believe it, the cost of housing in Vancouver has steadily outpaced that of New York City, a notoriously expensive place to call home, by 200% since 2000.

The good news is, for those beginning to question the merits of pricey downtown living (especially when being a single dweller in the city means forking out on average $2,234.80 a month on rent), there is a slew of other great, affordable options in BC that offer a lot of the same perks for so much less.

Enter: Kelowna development, Eden Kelowna.

In recent years, condo developments have far from lacked in their creative approaches toward luring Vancouverites to new neighbourhoods (and even new cities). Most recently, Eden is offering a limited-time promotion that involves paying the strata fees of all new condo buyers for an entire year.

Part of Eden’s mission has been to provide residents with many of the benefits of urban living without the financial headache, which means not having to uproot your lifestyle if you uproot your living situation.

Units starts in the high-$200,000 range without any shortage of enticing features.

All units are fully equipped with private outdoor patios with views of surrounding nature, underground parking to keep vehicles safe and cool, and in-suite laundry – including the washer and dryer.

Some unexpectedly bougie features — like the textured quartz concrete-finished countertops and freestanding soaker tubs — have also been incorporated into the finishing touches of most of the condo units. Also not to be overlooked are the Samsung stainless steel and hide-away appliances, vinyl plank flooring, open concept kitchen, and double vanity clad washrooms.

The complex is located in the ever-expanding Uptown Rutland area of Kelowna in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. It’s fairly close to UBCO, too, making it an attractive rental property for would-be investors.

The rapidly growing community has tons of tasty eateries, coffee shops, specialty boutiques, and a growing downtown social scene.

For those fond of the great outdoors, there’s certainly no scarcity of surrounding green space. The complex is right across the street from Ben Lee Park and also boasts access to world-renowned ski hill Big White. The development itself evokes a sense of nature and community with its big leafy walks, planter beds, and enveloping outdoor courtyard.

Anyone that’s ever lived in a cramped downtown apartment will also know that square footage is king. Eden’s unique building design means there are actually upwards of 20 floorplans to select from to make the spaces as customizable as possible – and, yes, they includes generous square footage in all the areas that matter most, plus ample patio space.

In terms of bedrooms, there are one and two-bedroom options that all include spacious layouts and modern interiors.

Buyers can feel even better about their purchase because finances gleaned from the project will be going towards the financing of a much-needed new school building for neighbourhood kids.

Saving a bunch of money on strata fees also doesn’t hurt. Combine that with the extra money you’ll save from avoiding expensive Vancouver rent, and, suddenly, that’s a lot of extra cash for your next trip to the furniture store — which means finally furnishing and decorating your new space the way you’ve always wanted.

Connect with Eden Kelowna directly for more information on the promotion or to check out a unit for yourself.
