Kabam's office space is booming just like BC's creative industries

Daily Hive has teamed up with BC Creates  for Creative Industries Week  – a celebration from February 27 to March 4 of BC’s creative economy. This week we’ll be featuring the stories of vibrant individuals and companies that are propelling the province’s economic and cultural future under our several creative industries. Show your passion for BC’s creative industries by using the hashtag #bccreates

Kabam’s office boasts the explosive appeal that its name suggests.

The entertainment company is one of the world’s leaders of AAA console quality games for mobile devices, and its immaculately designed office lives up to its phenomenal reputation.

But what’s really cool is that Kabam is located right here in Vancouver.

You’ll find things in this office that you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll marvel at the intricately decorated rooms – even the staff, their heads adorned with bright tiaras in the spirit of the company’s regular “Fancy Friday.” You’ll pet the heads of the friendly office dogs, stare hungrily at the delicious snack bins, open your eyes wide in awe as you enter hidden rooms, and gaze at the giant Rubik’s Cube tables.

But there’s something even bigger going on here in the Kabam office space.

You can’t see it, but you can certainly feel it.

This office is indicative of the kind of amazing growth BC’s creative industries are experiencing. Just as the industries continuously bloom, its offices and people do too. The writing is literally on the wall – employees have sketched their zany ideas on the marker friendly surfaces that are scattered throughout the office.

Kabam is a place that’s guaranteed to make you feel proud to live in a province that’s laden with so much talent – it’s a booming ideological universe that’s placed BC on a global scale, reminding people that we’re a force to be reckoned with.

We create, we thrive, and we inspire.

Daily Hive toured Kabam’s office space to see what the company is all about, and what it can teach us about BC’s creative industries.

Tour through the kitchen and you’ll find friendly staff sitting at the area’s table that’s equipped with plugins so you can play around with iPads and brainstorm with coworkers.

Kabam’s an advocate of napping, with the belief that fostering some time out helps increase productivity and creativity.

The police public call box is more than just a display. Open the doors and you’ll realize it’s an entrance to a secret meeting room. Added special features like this one act as the perfect finishing touch to the Kabam office space.

Expect the unexpected. Sit down on these plush couches and gather around the Rubik’s Cube tables when you feel like brainstorming.

The garage features chairs that you can adjust just like car seats. You can slide in and out and place your coffee on the car tire coffee table while reviewing a presentation with your teammates.
