J.T. Miller and his family spent nearly six years in Vancouver.
The 31-year-old became a Canucks fan favourite during that time, with his popularity at an all-time high just last spring during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Now a member of the New York Rangers, Miller, his wife Natalie, and their three children are moving to the other side of the continent. And while that puts them closer to their offseason home, it’s clear that it’s a bittersweet move for the whole family.
A farewell from the Miller family:

“Vancouver there are not enough words I can say about how much we loved our time here,” Natalie Miller said in an Instagram post that included pictures of herself, J.T., and their children. “Raising our babies, trying new food, exploring and being in Rogers Arena will forever be some of our favorite memories.
“Thank you for every message. We are so grateful for the support and love and will hold onto our time here really close to our hearts. THANK YOU.”
Natalie embraced the city and let Canucks fans into her family’s life, which included posting viral videos like the one below.

It was the Miller family’s work off the ice that had the biggest impact in the community.
Natalie spearheaded the initiative Cloud Nine as a way to give back to families with sick children this season, hosting them at Canucks games. The Millers bought a suite at Rogers Arena to make it happen.

“Cloud Nine is a night for families from BC Children’s (Hospital), Canuck Place, Ronald McDonald… Special Olympics,” Natalie said on Instagram back in October.
“My [vision] for it was to make it super personal, host those kiddos in there, give the parents a night that is fun and happy and there’s no pain. Honestly, it’s been such a dream of mine since J.T. and I have been here in Vancouver.”
Miller has found quick success in his return to New York, scoring four points (2-2-4) in three games with the Rangers. He recently told reporters he’s staying at the home of Vincent Trocheck, who is his best friend and now also his Rangers teammate.
