Jul 9 2020, 9:19 am

A suspect has been identified and charged after a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says that 43-year-old Joseph Holland was arrested on Wednesday night in Harrison Hot Springs by the RCMP’s Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team.

Holland, a Vancouver resident, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Police have also identified the homicide victims as 72-year-old Dennis Wragg and 68-year-old Paul Tonks, both of whom are from Vancouver.

The VPD responded to the double homicide earlier this week and identified a vehicle of interest, an older model 2005 Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was recovered in Chilliwack on Wednesday and police say that Holland remains in custody.

The shootings have been identified as Vancouver’s sixth and seventh homicides of the year.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
