By now, you’re probably familiar with Dr. Bonnie Henry — BC’s poised provincial health officer — providing British Columbians daily updates on the COVID-19 pandemic.

But what you may not know is that Henry has impeccable shoe game and now famed Vancouver-based footwear designer John Fluevog is releasing a limited-edition pair of heels dedicated to BC’s top doctor.

Henry can often be seen donning a pair of funky, colourful Fluevogs during daily press conferences, giving the designer inspiration to craft a special pair in her honour.

“Designed with her blessing and in honour of their namesake, The Dr. Henry shoes will also aid in the fight against COVID-19 with 100% of pre-sale proceeds going to support Food Banks BC,” said Fluevog in a release.

The designer adds that he is most definitely a fan of Henry as she is a “constant and outstanding source of knowledge and reassurance during the current fight against the spread of COVID-19.”

The pink and cherry-red Mary Jane heels with patent leather accents come with Dr. Henry’s signature phrase “be kind, be calm, and be safe”stamped onto the footstock.

“At times like these, we’re so fortunate to have someone who is calm and comforting but direct, and positive but realistic, informing and educating us day to day. We always like to find ways to help, and to highlight those who are doing good in our world,” said Fluevog.

“To hear about and see that our admiration for Dr. Henry was mutual was just a beautiful cherry on top of an already great idea sundae.”

The limited-edition Dr. Henry Shoe will be available on pre-sale later this month. Follow Fluevog on FacebookInstagramTwitter to stay up-to-date with details of the launch.
