NBA star Jimmy Butler hilariously documents his struggle to make it through this BC hike (VIDEO)

If you’ve had a hard time making it through one of BC’s many hikes, you can take comfort in knowing that an NBA star did too.

Jimmy Butler, shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, was in town a few months ago and decided to hike the Stawamus Chief in Squamish — and it definitely not a slam dunk.

Butler recently released a hilarious vlog documenting his entire journey.

Butler explains that this is his first hike and he wants to be prepared. Like a true nature enthusiast, he starts off by heading to a local outdoor store and grabbing equipment.

But he doesn’t just grab the essentials — he goes overboard.

“Some of my items: A knife in case I’m out there with Sasquatch and we go toe to toe,” he explains.

“A frisbee. Obviously, you gotta have that, you’re gonna get bored. Cast Away. Think about Cast Away. If he didn’t have that volleyball, he was done.”

At one point an employee comments that Butler looks like he was going on a five-day trek.

“If I get stranded, I’m prepared,” Butler replies. He definitely deserves some props here because there have been far too many incidents that involve unprepared hikers who head up trails with nothing but a water bottle and a granola bar.

Sure, he had more than enough equipment but was Butler physically ready for the nearly-two-hour journey up the Chief?

Not at all.

“I didn’t think it was going to be like that. I just though like yo, it’s just going to be a trail that was going up through the mountain,” he says. “So I was like ‘It can’t be that bad.’ Little did I know, I was wrong.”

Eventually, he makes it to the top, but it doesn’t get any better because Butler is afraid of water. When he spots the Howe Sound down below, he enters phase two of his hike freak out.

“I’m [gunna] throw up,” he says while clinging to a tiny tree stump.

We feel your pain, Jimmy. We feel your pain.
