Japanese Prime Minister installs wooden beaver door-knocker from Canada (VIDEO)

May 2 2019, 9:36 pm

While beaver-themed home decor is somewhat normal in Canada, it’s definitely not what you would expect to find at a home in Japan.

Especially at the home of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe.

Following a recent trip to Canada, the prime minister of Japan returned home with a rather quirky souvenir, a wooden beaver door-knocker.

In a video posted on the prime minister’s official Instagram account, which has already been seen over 104,000 times, you can see a very serious Abe hammer the door-knocker into place at his home.

The video ends with a shot of his wife Akie laughing as she tests out the souvenir.
