This past summer, Il Giardino Restaurant closed down to make way for a new development at the corner of Pacific and Hornby. Now the Vancouver restaurateur Umberto Menghi has a plan to reopen his iconic Il Giardino restaurant close to the location where it operated for nearly four decades.
Menghi has made a tentative offer takeover the space currently occupied by IK2GO, the Italian Kitchen To Go (located at 1328 Hornby Street) spot operated by Global Group.
If that deal does not go through, he’ll look for another site. Either way it looks like a new Il Giardino is just around the corner.
