IKEA Coquitlam closes after employee tests positive for coronavirus

Nov 9 2020, 11:13 pm

The IKEA location in Coquitlam has temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

On Monday, IKEA Canada announced “that a co-worker at their IKEA Coquitlam store” recently tested positive for the virus.

The company says that they’re taking “extensive precautionary measures” to reduce the risk of further exposure.

The temporary store closure is in order to “complete an enhanced cleaning and sanitization process” and will take place both at the store and at the external warehouse.

IKEA says that its Coquitlam location and the warehouse will re-open “once the sanitization process is complete.”

It’s unclear at this time, however, when the infected employee last worked at the store.

Daily Hive has reached out to IKEA Canada for further information.
