Mar 18 2020, 1:07 pm

Based on the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, IKEA Canada has closed all stores until further notice, effective immediately.

Customers will still be able to shop online at IKEA.ca, as home delivery services will be offered, as well as store Click & Collect pick-up between 11 am and 6 pm.

The company says that during this time, it will continue to support employees through paid leave and benefits.

IKEA also says that the company is working with local companies to provide support and relief to Canadians in the midst of the ongoing circumstances.

“Our top priority during these challenging times continues to be health and safety. Our communities are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support these efforts, we will temporarily close all stores across the country to support social distancing efforts and based on recommendations from local health authorities,” said Michael Ward, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer for IKEA Canada in a release.

All current commercial offers will be extended until April 30.
