IHIT investigates homicide of 30-year-old woman in Surrey

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating following the homicide of a 30-year-old woman in Surrey.

On Thursday morning, just after 5:30 am, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in an alleyway on the 13700 blocks of 75A Avenue.

“A 30-year-old female was located with critical injuries, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” reads an emailed statement from the Surrey RCMP.

Despite efforts by first responders, the woman succumbed to her injuries.

Police say that “early information indicates a second vehicle was involved in this shooting” and that the area is currently being combed for evidence and video surveillance.

At this point in time, the incident is not believed to be a random act.
