IHIT activated after evening shooting at Langley shopping centre

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been activated after a male victim involved in a shooting died in the hospital.

The shooting took place on Friday, February 7. At approximately 9:35 pm, the Langley RCMP was called to a parking lot at the Langley Crossing Shopping Centre, located around the 6300 blocks of 200th Street.

Police say that upon arrival, an adult male was found with apparent gunshot wounds. At that point, he was rushed to the hospital in “grave condition.”

On Thursday morning, IHIT announced that the victim “recently died in hospital” and that they would be taking over the investigation.

The Langley RCMP say that the incident is not believed to be a random act.
