Some lucky onlookers saw a humpback whale in Vancouver’s harbour Friday morning.
The Port of Vancouver shared a photo on Twitter showing the whale’s iconic tale slipping into the water with pleasure boats and condo towers in the background.
“This morning, a humpback whale was spotted by our harbour patrol crew!” the port said.

This is the second time this month a humpback whale was spotted in Burrard Inlet. Another was seen near the PNE on May 13.
The marine mammals breaching so close to the city usually gives a thrill to those who are close enough to see.
