"Don't go, don't throw, say no:" BC health minister clamps down on house parties

BC’s health minister is offering stern new advice on not hosting house parties as the province saw yet another record-breaking day of new COVID-19 cases.

Adrian Dix said the way residents should approach house parties during the pandemic is simple: don’t.

“Don’t go, don’t throw, say no,” he said at Thursday’s media briefing.

Many new infections in recent weeks have been acquired at gatherings in people’s homes. Local health authority Fraser Health already issued stricter advice on house parties ahead of Halloween weekend, and now it appears health officials want that caution to extend to the whole province.

BC reported 425 new coronavirus cases on Thursday.
