Canadian Forces Snowbirds to perform air show at Honda Celebration of Light 2018

Jun 22 2018, 8:28 am

There will be even more reasons to look to the sky during this year’s Honda Celebration of Light – and that’s before the sun even goes down.

Back by popular demand, all three nights of the festival will feature the Pete McLeod Airshow which will dazzle the crowd in the skies above English Bay.

In 2009, the Ontario-native McLeod made history by becoming the youngest pilot and first Canadian to compete in the elite Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

The jaw-dropping show, presented by Redbull, is returning to the Honda Celebration of Light for the first time since 2013.

As one of Canada’s most recognizable aviation figures and civilian headlining act at Canadian air shows, McLeod and his Red Bull Edge 540 is a crowd favourite in the sky and on the ground with fans of all ages.

On Wednesday, August 1, the Pete McLeod Airshow will be joined by special guests the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

This special show featuring the country’s famed aerobatics squadron starts at 6:45 pm and ends at 7:40 pm.

Flying the CT-114 Tutor aircraft, the squadron is comprised of serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and demonstrates the high level of skill, professionalism, and teamwork in all their shows.
