Can you remember the first time you stepped foot into the home that you live in right now? Maybe it’s your grandparents’ place, where you grew up, or the place you found a second home in after immigrating to Canada.
Every home has something that makes it unique and sweet beyond the physical features.
It’s the sense of community when you know your neighbours by name, the fond memories of milestones like weddings and prom (and those awkward photos in the hallway), or when you got your first pet.
RE/MAX Canada recently partnered up with North Vancouver’s spoken word artist Kyprios to talk about what makes a home sweet. They created the below video to inspire individuals’ to reflect on their own home and share their thoughts by entering a contest.
Those who entered were asked to share a video explaining what makes their house a home, and what makes it truly special to them.
If you were one of the 15,000 people who entered, your video could be featured in the contest compilation video below. Check it out to find out!
The winning video was selected via a random draw — and the clip was created by Vancouver resident Glory Hartmann.
Hartmann had just sold her house in Winnipeg the day that she entered the contest, with the help of RE/MAX Realtor Dave Johnson. For her, the timing makes it feel like this was all meant to be. As the winner of the contest, she received a $500 gift card to Home Depot to make her family’s space even sweeter.
