Hockey Canada has unveiled a brand-new jersey for the 2026-27 sesaon, and it’s a pretty significant change from what fans have seen in recent years.
The organization officially revealed its new Bauer jersey on Wednesday, bringing back one of the most recognizable elements of Canadian hockey.
The iconic Hockey Canada crest is returning to the front of the national jersey for the first time in four years. And while the jersey looks unmistakably Canadian, they’ve also added plenty of new details to the design.
The new red jersey features a series of maple leaf designs across the shoulder, with additional Maple Leaf details appearing throughout the sleeves.

As the organization puts it, the goal was to make Canada’s national symbol visible from every angle.
There’s also a tone-on-tone Maple Leaf and Hockey Canada logo engraved into the elbow area, while the traditional crest features a gold border.
Perhaps the coolest detail, however, is hidden inside the collar.

Three gold maple leaves are featured inside the jersey, representing Canada’s three national hockey programs: men’s, women’s, and para hockey. It’s a pretty cool detail given that the jersey is meant to represent Canadian hockey as a whole.
Hockey Canada has also tied the new design into three themes: “Elbows Up,” “Our National Symbol,” and Golden Legacy.”
According to Hockey Canada, the three themes are meant to reflect the character and identity of Canadian hockey while celebrating the country’s long history of international success.

Canada has won Olympic gold in men’s hockey nine times, while the women’s team has captured gold on six occasions. Canada’s para hockey program has also won multiple gold medals.
Unfortunately, fans wanting to get their hands on this new sweater will have to wait, as Hockey Canada says there will be no pre-order available just yet. Availability, pricing, and retail details will be announced at a later date.
