The COS Vancouver flagship store will be located at 1070-1080 Robson Street, sources tell Daily Hive. This is a significant two-storey, 9,000-sq-ft location, replacing spaces that previously occupied Armani Exchange and BCBGMAXAZRIA.

The label is owned by H&M, and is known for being a less trendy, modern minimalist, more sophisticated version of its fast fashion parent company, but with mid-to-high market prices.

COS’ new location will offer menswear, womenswear, kidswear, incorporating the retailer’s latest contemporary brick-and-mortar designs.

No precise date for the opening has been made available, as it is too early still, but the store will open with the Autumn Winter 2019 collection.

The store is over two times larger than COS’ first Western Canada store at 18 Water Street in Gastown, which spans 4,500 sq. ft. including its basement.

A formal announcement is expected shortly.

H&M is also in the process of renovating and expanding its flagship store at CF Pacific Centre, which will grow the location from 28,000 sq. ft. to about 38,000 sq. ft. with the addition of a third floor on the mall’s lower level.

As for the COS’ decision to open a flagship store on Robson Street, it is a major sign of confidence over the long-term future of Robson Village as a major regional retail destination, which has seen a number of major new tenants in recent years, including the MUJI flagship store, Indigo flagship bookstore, and Drake’s OVO store.

Across the street from the COS location, a new significant two-storey retail building at 1067 Robson Street is in the process of being built. No tenant has been announced at this time.
