Man dies after being hit by two vehicles in Surrey

One man is dead after a hit-and-run in Surrey on Thursday evening.

According to Surrey RCMP, the incident took place just before 9 pm, when the man was attempting to cross Highway 10 northbound approximately 200 metres east of 152 Street, and was not using a crosswalk.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was then struck by one vehicle which fled the scene and then struck a second time by a vehicle which was following behind the first.

The driver of the second involved vehicle stayed at the scene of the collision and is cooperating with police.

Investigators are looking for the suspect vehicle which was described as a white SUV with a “boxy” appearance.

“Investigators are asking anyone who was a witness to this incident, who has not already been in contact with police, to please call the Surrey RCMP,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Elenore Sturko. “Investigators are also canvassing the area for video and asking any members of the public who may have captured the incident on dash-cam to call the police.”
