BC Ferries is advising customers of high traffic volumes expected on its most popular routes.

For two Saturdays in July, hundreds of extra passengers associated with Scouts Canada will be travelling on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay Route.

They’ll be travelling to Camp Barnard in Sooke for the Scouts Canada 2019 Pacific Jamboree, which takes place from July 6 to 13.

Higher-than-normal traffic is expected for both foot passengers and vehicles on the following sailings:

  • Saturday, July 6
Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay)
    8 am to 1 pm
  • Saturday, July 13
Victoria (Swartz Bay) to Vancouver (Tsawwassen)
    10 to 1 pm

Anyone planning to travel with a vehicle during these times is advised to make a reservation online. Those without reservations should plan to arrive between 45 to 60 minutes early.

Alternatively, travelling later in the afternoon and evening may also be less busy.

Sailings from Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay are hourly during the summer months.
