Gastown's tiny grilled cheese window is closing down soon

It’s time to get those last Melter Skelters and Eddie Cheddars: Gastown’s tiny Hi-Five grilled cheese window-only restaurant is set to close.

Hi-Five made the revelation this week on Instagram, noting that the grilled cheese spot will serve its last mac and cheese stuffed Yes Ma’am sammy at the end of August.

“This marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of something new,” adds Hi-Five.

The space isn’t going to turn into an avocado toast or smoothie bowl window, though. It’s going to become “a not for profit, independent online radio station, showcasing live broadcasts from dj’s, musicians and provocateurs, Vancouver based and beyond.”

Called NFR for “No Fun Radio” (live from No Fun City!), the flip is expected to happen in September.

So go give Hi-Five a try or a revisit before they’re gone.

Hi-Five is open Thursdays 6 pm to midnight and  Fridays and Saturdays 8 pm to 2 am.
