Heavy rainfall warning in effect for Metro Vancouver

Dec 20 2017, 3:50 am

Get out your rain boots, it’s going to be a wet one in Metro Vancouver.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the city as an intense Pacific frontal system moves across the South Coast of B.C. today and tonight.

The North Shore mountains will expect the highest volume of rain: 50 to 70 millimetres is expected by Thursday morning. Southeast winds of 40 to 60 kilometres per hour are expected as well.

Thankfully the heavy rain will likely lift by tomorrow morning, but wet weather will persist throughout the week.

Environment Canada is warning if you have to drive while visibility is reduced, turn on your lights, maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you, and slow down.
