Gypsy Moth spraying in Surrey and Delta delayed

Dec 19 2017, 10:58 pm

The second round of aerial spraying targeting the gypsy moth in Surrey and Delta has been delayed, thanks to the weather.

The Province is planning to resume the spraying tomorrow, as long as the rain lets up.

Some residents have voiced concern about the gypsy moth spray, meant to tackle the invasive species.

But officials insist the insecticide Foray 48B is safe, which is approved for use by Health Canada, even on certified organic farms.

Residents concerned about the spray are encouraged to remain indoors with windows and doors closed, for at least 30 minutes after the spraying is finished.

The spraying runs from 5:20 to 7:30 a.m.
