Internet sensation Grumpy Cat has died at age seven.
According to the famous feline’s owners, the cat passed away “peacefully” on Tuesday, May 14, in the arms of her owner following complications from a urinary tract infection.
The cat, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, became popular on social media thanks to her grumpy demeanour. She made countless public appearances, including a visit to Toronto in 2014.

“We are unimaginably heartbroken to announce the loss of our beloved Grumpy Cat,” wrote the cat’s owners in an emotional Twitter post.
“Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grump encountered complications from a recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome.”
“Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world—even when times were tough.”
