The popular Grouse Grind trail in North Vancouver has been closed due to the accumulation of ice and snow on the trail, Metro Vancouver announced this week.

In a statement, Metro Vancouver said the closure is effective as of today (Thursday, December 19) but that park staff will “continue to assess conditions and will provide an update when conditions change.”

In the meantime, for those looking to slide down instead of hike up, Grouse Mountain Resort has now opened to skiers and riders for the 2019/20 winter season.

On its website, the resort said it mountain has received 15 cm of snow in the last 12 hours, 42 cm in the past 48 hours, and currently has a base of 102 cm at the peak.
