Grouse Grind closed due to snow and ice on Vancouver's North Shore

Metro Vancouver has closed the Grouse Grind, after the North Shore mountains got pummelled with snow this week.

As of Friday, Mother Nature’s Stairmaster on Grouse Mountain was closed until further notice, due to “snow, ice, and hazardous conditions.”

Hikers are advised to take the BCMC trail instead, and use microspikes. However, this trail is typically only recommended until September, so use with caution.

More snow is likely to fall on the Grind this weekend, as Environment Canada is forecasting snowfall across North and West Vancouver, as well as the rest of the South Coast.
