A three-time James Beard Award-winning chef is coming to Vancouver

Chef Gregory Gourdet, from one of North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, is set to join Top Chef CanadaĀ season 11 winner Chanthy Yen at Touk for a special, one-night-only five-course dinner.

Gourdet is a three-time James Beard Award winner and founder of Portland’s contemporary Haitian restaurant Kann, which ranked number 27 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 and was named Best New Restaurant at the 2023 James Beard Awards.

“Kann is definitely one of the most outstanding restaurants in Portland right now. I’m excited to have Gregory join us at Touk this November,” said Yen. “This dinner will give our guests the opportunity to experience the bold expressions of both Cambodian and Haitian cuisines at the same time, highlighting the seasonal bounty of the Pacific Northwest.”

Gourdet will be bringing Kann’s approach to Haitian cuisine to the collaborative dinner, including its signature open-fire cooking, vibrant spices, and locally sourced ingredients. He will join Yen, whose Cambodian cuisine is shaped by the contemporary, personal lens that defines Touk.

Guests can expect a multi-course menu that moves between Cambodia, Haiti, Oregon, and B.C., with each course reflecting their individual culinary languages while exploring a shared sense of place. Ingredients sourced from producers across the Pacific Northwest will serve as a common thread throughout the meal.

“I am delighted to collaborate with Chef Chanthy and Touk to put a spotlight on the flavours and ingredients of our shared region,” said Gourdet. “Vancouver and Portland have a lot in common, including our approach to sustainability and support for independent producers. I think it’s going to be a really unique evening, with two distinctive approaches to Pacific Northwest ingredients that diners aren’t likely to experience anywhere else.”

The beverage program will also connect the two restaurants with pairings inspired by both Touk and Kann. Folks can expect a selection of Kann’s much-loved low-to-no-ABV cocktails, alongside exclusive B.C. wines from Martin’s Lane Winery (including Oregon-grown grape wines from the limited-release Oregon Project), plus additional pairings designed just for the dinner.

The dinner is $199 per person, including beverage pairings, and reservations are available online now. The Victoria International Wine Festival and Travel Portland present this dinner, with additional support from Martin’s Lane Winery, San Pellegrino and Flor de CaƱa Rum. This dinner is part of a series of culinary appearances Gourdet is making across B.C. this November.
