The Greek Food Festival of Vancouver is one of the city’s longest running annual cultural events. Over the past 37 years the festival has gained quite a following, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the lower Mainland, as it celebrates all things Greek.

Taking place over three consecutive days this year, from September 25 to 27, the Hellenic Community Centre will host its 38th premier Greek Food Festival.

Priding itself on being the “Original Greek Food Festival” the free event will feature live entertainment, dancing, a kids zone, a market place with artisan crafts, authentic Greek food, and new this year a Loukoumades (honey fried dumplings) eating contest.

A range of enticing food vendors will be on site this year, offering an array of culinary delights, including an authentic Gyros Stand, calamari kiosks, a Loukoumades Station where deep fried honey dumplings will be made fresh-to-order, and a Greek Café (Kafeneio) offering homemade pastries, authentic Greek coffee and iced coffee, just like they make in Greece.

The festival will also feature a sit-down dining room, the perfect spot for large parties and families to enjoy their roast lamb dinner or mousakka.
