Gold Stone Bakery & Restaurant space listed for sale in Chinatown

Oct 1 2020, 10:49 pm

Gold Stone Bakery & Restaurant has quietly closed its doors. The popular Chinatown eatery had been operating at 139 Keefer Street for 33 years before it shut its doors earlier this year, the Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society told Daily Hive.

Gold Stone was known for its authentic Chinese breakfast staples and treats like pineapple buns, egg tarts, and Hong Kong-style milk tea. It had been open since 1987, according to the Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society’s records.

The President of the Vancouver Chinatown BIA Society, Jordan Eng, told Daily Hive that he believed the reason for the closure was due to Gold Stone’s owners being of retirement age.

Eng said he did not know when Gold Stone Bakery & Restaurant’s last official day of operation was.

Gold Stone’s space is now listed for sale.
